NRG Pet Products is a very unique brand for several reasons. They source their ingredients from farms in Canada and the United States, which means that all of their ingredients are table grade (fit to be consumed by humans as well as dogs). Their meat ingredients come from free-range animals and all of their meat products are purchased fresh or flash frozen before they are made into dog food. Their strict inspection practices mean that their food is safe from risky pathogens. Dehydrated dog food also maintains more nutrition than food that is canned or frozen – according to the NRG website, “the nutritional losses during dehydration are 3 to 5% compared to 60 to 80% loss during canning and 40 to 60% when frozen.” When feeding your dog on a regimen of dehydrated food, you simply rehydrate the food with water 20-30 minutes before serving. While many of us would like to make homemade dog food for our best friends, we don’t often have the time. Dehydrated food like the kind NRG offers is a perfect compromise because it is both convenient and delivers optimal nutrition.
